The Apifonica AI Agent platform will be deployed on Uztelecom infrastructure, and voice services built on it will later be available to the entire market. The project was announced on 23 September at the operator’s forum “Artificial Intelligence – Infrastructure for the Business of the Future”, held as part of ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026.
Artificial intelligence is no longer a subject for experiments. According to McKinsey, 88% of companies worldwide already use it, and the cloud market grew to $143 billion in a single quarter of 2026, more than in the whole of 2020. Uztelecom already has the foundation in place. At ICT Week the company launched two data centres, with five planned by the end of the year. All of them are rated Tier III, and corporate clients’ data stays in the country. The new project will grow on this foundation.
What will be built with Apifonica
The centre will become part of Uztelecom’s digital transformation. AI will help the company raise its customer service to the level of the best global practice. Subscriber service will move to AI, with AI Agents handling first-line support at the country’s largest contact centre. Once proven in operation, the solution will be offered to businesses, which will be able to buy Voice Agents as a service.
Apifonica’s CEO and founder Denis Shirokii and Kristaps Nelsons travelled to Tashkent to sign the memorandum. At the forum, Nelsons gave a talk titled “How AI transforms customer experience in call centres”.

“Every second conversation with a customer is already handled by artificial intelligence. An AI Agent resolves up to 65% of all inbound support requests. It doesn’t just answer, it resolves. It pulls up the customer record, checks the balance and makes changes. The issue is solved immediately, in a matter of minutes,” said Nelsons.

The Apifonica platform supports more than 150 languages with automatic language detection during the conversation. Enterprise projects typically deploy around ten languages. This is not about replacing human agents. According to McKinsey, less experienced employees working with an AI assistant are 34% more productive and resolve issues two to three times faster. The machine takes on the routine work, while complex requests stay with people.
